this graph shows my car with both a vf35 and a pe1820 on race fuel,

1820 is laggy as hell, and only made a tiny bit more power @ 6000 rpm,

the vf35 in response made up 10x in driveability and acceleration.

Nick, I'd agree with Stace on the results of the PE1820, but only so far as with a 2.0 engine. With the 2.5, its a diff ball game. The extra capacity does seem to help kick the PE from a trot into a gallop.

I would have stuck with the PE if a boost leak had been diagnosed properly. It worked well with the 2.5 - next to no lag (spooling at 2000rpm and full 1.5 by ard 3500rpm) and still had guts up top, although a leaky wastegate hindered that somewhat. I only went the bigger turbo as I couldn't be arsed spending more $$$ for the same result and somewhere down the line it was going to be happening anywayz.

With what u're running and for what u're after IMHO I'd not look past a PE in terms of value for money performance.

Smile thanks guys!

Thanks guys, some really useful feedback here. Couple of questions:

tuna - did those graph results come from a 2.0 or 2.5?

rexilla - is your experience with the PE1820 on a 2.5? Very interested to see how you go with the Momentum, early feedback sounds very positive.

flash - I agree with u re the AVO's. Lots of happy campers on the east coast, I guess it just depends on their application - drags, circuit, autokhana or just dyno chest beats. Ideally, the proof's is in the driving - I just wish there was a 2.5 with a 400l in perth.

explicit - yeah the early spool of the VF28 is totally magical and for MC's it's perfect. As maddog would say, it's gonna kick ass and take lunch money. So will run the VF28 for at least a month or two during the early run-in. I'm cautious that the 2.5's gonna send it to an early grave. So, are we doing Mc's again next year? Hehee

xrw147 - thanks al, I apprecaite that clarification. Wish I could get a hold of a good quality second hand unit.

thanks again guys - good stuff! :-)

Nic

PE are shit turbos, period.

HKS, AVO or Greddy are the way to go and if you don't mind using a truck cartridged turbo, the FP Green is good BFYB

Hmmm... an interesting idea. Why do ya think the GT2835 is the best turbo for a 2.5L? Do you have any experience with this particular combination?

Just for info .... im told by speedworks that my 44lb GT25R exhaust wheel is now restricting power from going above 230-40kw at wheels. So you would want something which can flow both 44lb+ and have the exhaust wheel size to flow the air when its coming out.
