Red face Finished the bolt on mods, now what?

Hi guys,

So, I've reached that point where my MY01 has most of the bolt on mods, 315hp atw and its not quick enough for my liking.

What I have so far:

Motec M800
Gearbox 1-2 Straight cut, 3-4 Helicut PPG, Stock 5th
Bosch 044 fuel pump
600cc injectors
Custom Angle mounted HKS GT3037S turbo
Custom screamer pipe with Turbosmart Progate 45mm External Wastegate, Custom Up pipe and Down pipe to suit turbo
3" turbo back S/S Canon exhaust
XForce Extractors
PWR tube and Fin FMIC to fit entire air dam of the bumper. Custom piping to suit FMIC
Custom S/S Air Intake with K&N pod filter
Trust Type-R BOV
Cusco Strut Bar
Whiteline rear Swaybars
Super Low King Springs
DBA 4000 rotors
Ferodo 2500 pads
Oil-air separator
Samco Radiator hoses
Oil cooler
I think it also has v5 sti cams?

So what are my options here. Sean and Nick at ASG rekon the engine is getting pretty tired. 15k would be the max of my budget. I really just want it to be quicker down the 1/4 and stick to tried and tested setups.

Oh and most would know by now that I'm learning as I go. I haven't been researching anything but bolt on mods so far till now so go easy on me

Suggestions?

15k should buy you a nice 2.5 litre with some bits inside it...that'll spool the 3037S nicely too

GT35r AND COILOVERS Looks like a very decent setup already mate. You know the rest engine wise.

Ok so option 1 is: 2.5 litre with some bits (specifics?) inside.

I imagine its rather difficult to estimate what sort of power that setup would be making...?

I h8 coilovers. I had them and removed them.

15 k will get u a nice build..

2.5 shortblock: sleeved, pistons, rods, refresh crank (or billet replacement)
oil pump

head work: cosworth 272/274 cams, ported polished heads, 1mm oversize valves on the intake and exhaust, springs and retainers.

Then theres always the intake and TB mods if u want to go that far..

Fuelling, alteast two in tank bosch or walbro pumps or a single in tank with an external pump. 1000-1200cc injectors. And you may need cdi at higher boost levels (id just wait and see if thats needed)

As for the turbo its a nice turbo the 3037 similar to a GT30R, will be very responsive on a 2.5ltr..

But if u want something bigger then go with a GT35R as it will make 320-350 kw atw with no problems..

i think that will easily chew up 15k....

im going to be running a 40R so u can see how my setup goes if u like...

I'm in the same boat, Adam. I recently had an HKS GT2835 put in, and it felt stupid quick...for a few days.

Considering building next year, but i think $15k would be stretching my budget in the time frame i want it done.

I would rebuild the motor so it can handle more boost. Get bigger injectors and simply run more boost.
