Strip mods, sell the 205 (assuming thats what you have), throw in a EJ257 and realise how much torque you will have. This works better in GC8's however as they are lighter.

But you have to tell yourself, how far are you willing to go? If 315hp isnt enough, what will be? 15k wont get you a hell of alot further in my opinion. Look at wai, and see howmuch he has spent. Although this is a big figure, if you constantly require more power, you may end up in the same situation.

In that case, 15k will do it i think depending on what you are running 1/4 mile time wise, now. Bigger cams, Better crank, Forgies, maybe running bigger injectores, duel fuel pumps.

assuming you have the 205 still....what boost are you running? About 1.2bar?

Your fueling is pretty good, the 044 will be fine. I would say, all you need to do to make more power is bigger injectors, say 850s to 1000cc's or something and dial up about 1.8bar on the 3037 and you will get an 11 E.A.S.Y!

But, to handle 1.8bar all the time you will need an engine rebuild.

15K will cover all this pretty easy...

rebuild the 205 with good bits or get a nice 207 or 257...work out weather you like to shift @ 7000, 7800 or higher as this will dictate what motor to get and weather cams will be needed. Personally I think with the 3037 a 2.5 with good internals would be the go but will chew the best part of 10K to do.

a create 207 would be cheaper but may be a bit a little bit of a dog day to day....maybe...

Allow the remaining 5K for fueling and tuning and you should come in with change left over..

Agreed, driving style should dictate the engine size to begin with. Will be be only for drags? Maybe a track day? 207 will rev harder and handle higher pounds of boost but the 2.5 will be a total torque machine in comparrison to the 207 2ltr.

Yes 1.8bar through a 205 will go no problems, but like atz said, it wont handle it for long. Most likley do a big end.

I think its personal prefrence but for me id say 2.5ltr for track and 2ltr for drags. Obviously both engines can do both applications but you have to wonder why people go for a 2.2ltr strokers when running 1/4 miles.

Is the daily driver maybe the reason why people go for a 2.2ltr strokers when running 1/4 miles?

Because I'm leaning towards the 2.5 at the moment. If only because although it will mostly be for the drags it will also be my daily driver (although I don't drive much anyway so this hasn't been a problem as yet). And I have mega lag at the moment.

Does anyone have a similar setup with rebuilt 205, 207 or 257? I'd love to have a ride and see which I prefer.
