i spoke to the dealer in regards to warranty and modifications. he said that subaru will still cover the car, unless there is a problem caused by the mods. if you upgrade the suspension/brakes even put an exhaust on they are still going to cover the engine if it breaks.

i guess if you added a boost controller and engine bit snapped, they would probably argue that you broke it by doing so - fair enough.

I think they are really emphasising the gap between the WRX and STi. In order to sell higher amounts of STi's, they will need to make the WRX pleb pack so people will spend the extra cash. Look at the GC8 STi's, they had a spoiler and frontlip/rear window wiper.....Why spend the extra (we are talking about avg joes that dont care about indepth mechanics of cars) cash when you can get some faker shaker stuff made for it?

Like Brenno said, id get pads and rotors before spending mass amounts of cash on you calipers. It could be the stock rotor/pad combo letting you down to begin with. If all else fails, see Mugg'z group buy on endless brakes, they are rrreeaalllly cheap.....*cough*

Good move i reckon. Avoid the expensive stuff, until you HAVE to do the upgrade. Even if you think its still average, you have some nice rotors/pads to go with new calipers and honestly, throwing ds2500's and db650's on my gc8, i was headbutting the dashboard like a hooker in the bangbus.
