What do people think of the OE Brembo pads? I have a set in the calipers i have, are they half decent or shite?

And in regards to the bolts, they are definitely different - I have the bolt specs of a Brembo caliper bolt at home, will post the details later.

Also info in regard to the torque specs.

For everyone else, what do you have your caliper bolts torqued to?

I go around 110-130nm to tighten up the caliper bolts.
If you go 5000's brand spankers can be had for 450 ea. Replacement rotors you would budget around 275+ each and you reuse the hats. Some guys run just 4000's and change them over when needed.

The bolt is indeed M12x1.50, also suggested is some anti-seize

In regard to the torque, from NASIOC.

Torque specs for front brembo caliper mounting bolts is not 114.3 ft/lbs

Who ever spread this information is incorrect. I am not sure if this is what the STi shop manual says but if it does it is also incorrect. I just got off the phone with BREMBO USA and here is what i just found out.

Torque spec for front Brembo caliper mounting bolts is 80 ft/lbs.

BTW: The helpful brembo rep on the phone said 80 ft/lbs = 114 newton meters. Please be careful and let's stop the insanity of snapping caliper bolts and stripping caliper threads.

Try looking in a service manual, I'd rather take the word of the Subaru manual on the OEM Brembo callipers rather than Brembo America who are probably talking about a different Brembo calliper with their supplied bolts..

80 Lb/ft is plenty. They get stripped because people wind the fine thread bolts from their old calipers into the coarse thread Brembos.

Yeah Rich, don't stuff around with generic ugly ones, get the genuine ones if they're only ~$11 each.
