Default Fuel Leak from alloy lines...

Started smelling a odd fuel smell everytime turned off the car, popped my head under the hood today to see if i could spot anything...

to my shock it was coming from the alloy lines that run to the fuel rails... A needle hole was spraying a fine mist of fuel.
Now it looks like the intercooler pipe that runs across it has over time pushed and bent it to crack.

Obviously i need to get this fixed quick smart - my question is, is this a big job? does the manifold have to come off etc ?

lucky it hasnt caught fire...

big job, manifold off, and unbolt fuel rails. Shame about the way FMIC's are installed. Always a compromise.

I am pretty sure that the fuel lines are steel too...??

good thing you found that before it became quite a shit storm.

Replacement OEM GD rails shouldn't be too hard to get, nor expensive.

The lines are zinc coated steel, get a new set and mod them(bend) and use a longer bit of fuel hose so this doesn`t happen again. You could silver solder or just replace them.

Manifold off(easier than it looks), replace rails, re-fit and mod

What cooler kit is it you have ?
