So your running 2psi more than stock??? why bother if you have aftermarket mods to handle more??

personally i thought stock boost was about 7-8 psi. Didnt think std set up could handle much more than 10psi.

Nah... mine is the MY94 which came with TD05 turbo running at 11.7psi stock... the MY96 onwards ran the TD04 which runs ~14psi... And mine is now running 18psi anywya...
I know of people who have run the TD04's at 20psi with no problems for over 2 years!!
So i dont think you'll have too many drama's upping it a little... although 20psi is probably a bit much if you dont want it to break!.. I think his was a bit of a freak in that respect!...

If you run anymore than 17/18psi on GC8's you tend to hit boost cut on factory ecu's. Not a nice feeling

You can safely run 1bar Tristan, i think std is around 12/13psi.

TD04 wont cope with 20psi that well either...

T, it ain't possible with just boost controller alone - unless of course you take Jme's suggestion, or fit boost cut defender etc.

And considering how many times this topic has been covered u still thought 7-8 psi was stock? What did u think we were driving? Corollas?

He was... as Jme rightly pointed out.. not running a boost controller... merely unplugged the map sensor tube.

My signature merely states the Dyno'd output at 16psi... doesnt say how much at 18psi because it was dyno'd at 16.... What do ya want me to do?... Put:

94 WRX Wagon.... 265hp @ 16psi.... Although its now running 18psi???

To reset the ecu, simply disconnect the 'NEGATIVE' lead on the battery and pump the brake pedal a few times. I usually wait 5 or so minutes, just for fun...

Then reconnect and away you should go. It is always fun then having to set all the head unit settings...

I don't think that is the correct procedure for an ECU reset.
