my00 should be 3.9 with 1:1.1 drop gears on the centre diff and a 3.54 rear diff.

Ive got a 6 Speed DCCD coming up for sale in a week or so cheap for sale if you are interested. It'll be same price or cheaper these days to do a 6 speed conversion than a PPG rebuild. 6 speed is stronger and has smoother shifts (double synchros on all gears and a third synchro on 2nd gear).

Show me pics mate... i think there the same just with different ratios. But i agree that they have a treatment to them..

err, didn't pull the box apart when i bought it that ra box has exactly the same ratios as the 22b box see here: http://spda-online.ca/modules/tinyco...ite/tc_28.html

i have one in my foz the final drive ratio is a bit shorter than my old stock box so at 110km/hr in 5th gear my motor is revving about 300 rpm higher, get about 50k's less out of a tank

Try to find a GTB Liberty or a STI 4.44 box (same) even though they are a 4 bolt they fit straight in & are a fair bit stronger, usually get one with a diff for around the 2g mark & the RA ones are a pain in the arse, especially living in the country,.
My ex blew 3rd without even trying in my old MY00 & I ended up driving it about 30k's & it did no further harm but I was lucky, I replaced it with a 98 4 bolt without any probs.

I have a 'box ready to go, same as the one in your car except good.

Cheapest option to get you back on the road quickly.
Aussie WRX gearboxes are unique, and are hard to find at wreckers and almost non existent in Importers.
Or I can set you up with a 6 speed if you prefer that. (need deep pockets though)

Cheap 2nd hand 5 spd 4.444 WRX 02+ gearbox + rear R160 diff if you can find one or as said previously get the GTB Liberty 4.444 box if you do a lot of highway driving.

WRX 02+ 4.444 is nearly as strong as the old 5spd RA boxes.

Around 3400 RPM at 100 k/mph in 5th with an RA box.

$2k is a damn good price for an RA DCCD box.
