What's the stock and max boost for VI STI?
Hmmm...Seems I'm only seeing a max of 14 psi in my my00 Vi STI (4th gear wot)
Is this correct? (I thought around 17 was stock?) Car has VF29, Xforce 3" TBE, otherwise stock as far as I know. Tried to search but no joy! Cheers Guys.

Would've thought 16-16.5psi was the norm for the V6.

That's what I thought too. Original turbo was a VF28.
Does the VF29 have a different wastegate pressure?

I wouldn't have thought so.....but most actuators on IHI turbos will start opening the wastegate at about 9.5-10psi so the fact you are running 14 means whatever boost control your using, is working. Is it the stock 2 port solinoid?
Maybe your Y-pipe or TB pipe has a leak or split causing a lose of boost. |

Yep, Factory setup.
Good thought on the y-pipe.....i'll check those joints.

Just about any good performance shop....but yours will most likely be either silicone already or mainly solid alloy with a short peice of silicone/rubber leading from the turbo to y-pipe......Non STi imprezas only came with crap dodgy corugated plastic ones.
Easy to whip the intercooler off to check. |

Are you sure your boost gauge is accurate?

I want to replace the turbo inlet (plastic pipe) , so I might aswell replace all the factory I/c sleeves whilst I'm at it with the i/c off.
