you may as well cut the core in half, thats how much you waste. note: i don't think your motor will run for very long with a half size radiator

hahah thanks Matt for your comical opinion..

Why cant the rest of the radiator be used?? i.e go up and around or below and around the square??

Im just looking for some alternatives..

think of the way the water flows. in the pic above you've essentially lost 1/3 of the radiators surface. its the same as going through your fmic with a 50mm holesaw

the problem is that cooling will stop along all of the horizontal bars that cross that area.

You should have a look at a V-mount cooling system.

hmmm okay i see what u mean. So if the radiator is say higher and wider to acount for this loss then it could work??

this was what i wanted to do.. however a few people have said that the FMIC will only be getting secondary air from the radiator..

hmmm i suppose i could run the pipe underneath the radiator then through the bottom of the FMIC?? That would work???

Intercooler should be your first point of contact with the air not the radiator

Hot air going through radiator into the intercooer defeats the whole purpose of having it there..

Simply.. touch a radiator after cars been running - MUCH hotter than an intercooler

Yeah i know, thats why i want an alternative as ive been told that radiator fins are much tighter compared to FMIC fins...

hmmm i think i can run the pipe paralell with the radiator then loop underneath into the FMIC...

Yeah well thats what i want to achieve, similar, but its looking more and more that its not going to be worth the effort...

twin plenums to get better flow to each bank... its just the IC/RAD setup that i cant get right..
