What causes the dip between the two peak torques?

Pressure drop due to a bigger volume of air to move.

I think the question may have been referring to the dip in the torque curve present on both graphs just after peak torque is hit. I think this is mainly due to tuning, with the tuner trying to even out AFRs and level off boost at this point. Most of the cars Sean tunes have this characteristic (I'm not sure about other tuners as I don't really pay much attention to dyno graphs from other workshops/tuner).

Yeah, dip is mainly due to Sean's tuning style and lack of 'smoothing' on the graphs. A lot of dyno printouts will smooth out the result hiding these items.

Ah oh, that makes sense. Thanks for posting that up Kato, I'll hopefully get a chart of mine on the stock td04 when it goes in to MMS this thursday. Will be interesting to compare the difference as my is almost completely stock except for TBE and fuel pump.

My personal thoughts.

My Blue Bugeye had stock TD04L with Stock Top mount, 3" TBE and fuel pump.
I pushed 17psi from it. Had heaps of power down low, felt like full boost at 3200rpm

My Silver Bugeye had stock TD04L with a Front mount intercooler, 3" TBE.
I'm pushing stock boost 13.5psi. It's got nothing down low.. Nothing at all, but at 4000rpm it's got more balls than my old bugeye. And I feel it's power go hard for longer, much more power up high. Just keeps going.

Now what you like is a personal choice...

What year bugeyes? could be different ratios. Also, tune makes a difference, the stock boost control you're currently running could be more aggressive with the wastegate.

Hi All,

I'm looking at replacing the TMIC on my 2006 CS9.

I am looking at either getting a 06 STI TMIC or a Process West TMIC.

I have been doing some reading and I can't find any proof as to which is better

Has anyone had any experience with which is better?

I think general concensus is the PW is a great unit, but not that much better than an STi intercooler which can be found for significantly cheaper.

What other mods have you got? I doubt you would see any real differences between either of them with a basic/mild mod list. I would assume you could get an STi TMIC much cheaper secondhand, so I would go with that.
