At the moment I have a 3inch TBE exhaust going into a 2.5inch diff back and a RFL BOV (thinking about removing it next tune)

When it was on the bench at Evolution R, the boost curve peaked at like 4.5-5 grand then dropped like a stone due to the intercooler.

It shouldnt drop, should just fade off slightly, at least thats what mine did with similar mods. Bigger intercooler isnt really worth it on the TD04?

It doesn't drop off straight away but it drops pretty darn fast

I have been looking around for a STI TMIC but they seem to be as rare as rocking horse shit.

all thing subaru... I did some googling and it has been closed down?

I may have to look around for 08+ STI intercooler, I'm guessing I will need a new BOV to suit?

No you should be able to use a GD bov. Thing is, an 08 will require some extra work to make it fit nicely. Easiest solution is to buy a GD one.

As mentioned, ebay has heaps.

Subaru WRX STI GDB INTERCOOLER | eBay

sti topmount intercooler | eBay

sti topmount intercooler | eBay

GDA GDB Impreza WRX sti factory intercooler | eBay

GDA GDB Impreza WRX sti genuine intercooler | eBay

Also rising sun subaru should have heaps in stock.

Cheers, is there any real gain from putting the 08+ one on? And what kind of work needs to be done to fit it?

I had a quick look on Google and only thread I could find was on naisoc.

The gain is, it's much larger than the GD one.

Work to fit - you will probably need to modify the scoop deflector to make use of the larger core and I'm not sure how the brackets line up for the driver's side. Advantage of the GD one, is you can just buy GD parts and it is plug and play.

Interesting thread. I have an 08 Sti and am thinking of getting a TMIC. But I have a few questions. Firstly, do bar and plate coolers suffer more from heat soak? Why don't process west TMIC's have the mounts for the metal fuel rail looking pipes on the front edge and are they important? And lastly, the Torx Racing TMIC looks just as good. Does anyone run one?

Torx Racing Top Mount Intercooler Subaru STI 2008-2012

Mods are CAI and TBE. Will be reflashed to suit change of cooler.

Thanks for your help
