Default Need your advice!!!!

Hi guys,

I have just finished running my MY06 WRX in and would like to spice things up a bit. I dont want to throw "rice" all over it, just a bit more HP and make it sound better (wife thinks it sounds pathetic ). Im new the WRX game as this is my first Subaru. Exhaust ??? Ecutek??? Pod & BOV or buy an STI???

P.S- opinions are like arse holes ( everybody has one)

Cheers

i would recommend ecutek/unichip, only because you can go from there with mods.
mods wont make great hp without being tuned in.
this is what i have been told anyway.

I have 2 arse holes! lol

From what I have been reading on the forum im not sure wether the ecutek can be installed on stock car?? or only after you have added exhaust and other mods??

What sort of $$ are you likley to pay for the ecutek? Any recomendations on install locations.

I wouldn't get a unichip (ever) - get ecutek before that.

Having said that - both of them are massive compromises and if you want to do anything else with the car later, get a motec or autronic ECU.

I know with the older wrxs 95-00 classic shapes it was full 3" exhaust, cold air duct and a new K&N type filter for the factory airbox..... They where places to start then you would step up to ECU, Differnt Intercooler with new y pipe and turbo...... There your more big buck mods.

Some would say do handling mods like lower the car, sway bars etc....

You've got to decide where you want the car to go, and what mods you plan on doing..... if your going to go all the way you would look at the pointy end of the ECU's when purchasing....

Gives you some where to start, also find out if a full exhaust system will play around with fueling like it did with the 01's.....

Thanks... the 06 does look like it needs 3" chopped off its legs or a returning chin spoiler to help in the looks department.

I plan to do some tarmac club events with the car next year so I reckon sorting the handling out first is a good option with a few mods under the bonnet. It will be nice to get the car out on a track day and iron out the bugs from there.

P.S - know of anybody else with 06 that has done any work to it.

i woudnt go unichip... neither would i pay for a flash.... but ecutek over unichip for mild mods.

look at better replacement ecus if u plan to go further with mods.

06 is nothing different really same chassis with slighty bigger motor, so no big deal. just need a custom tune by a competant tuner.
