Default Power Fc users..... A knock index question

Hi Guys,

People who are currently running a power Fc on their Scoob:

What is your average knock index reading on the commander?

Mine is peaking at 13.

I know this is low, I just want to gauge what others are seeing.

i used to see mine peak over 70, although its definately ticking if you see a 30+

Interesting, as I'm on the base map and was told to beware of knock/ agressively timed base map (100 ron).

I'm not belting the car (rpm limit 4500rpm, 12 psi).....Highest knock logged has been 17 (and keeping a close eye on it at all times)

I'm pulling the Pfc out for ahg this weekend and running the stock Sti ecu..... Proper tune in 2 weeks time.

Not tuned yet Dave and base map + high boost/rpm = BOOM!!

Who knows where the mixtures & timing will go on full noise......I don't want to find out without a dyno.....

Might do a run to Serpantine airfield for some 110 low lead JJK!

I see a knock of anywhere from 5-15 normally but occasionally, and i mean its only happened twice ive seen a knock of 51 and 58. I believe it was limiting at those times though.

Power fc DOESN'T retard under knock bud.

Tune is 2 weeks off......

Sphoolin:
How long was your car on the dyno for for the initail tune? I've been quoted 4+ hours.....Seems excessive considering the car Idles and drives better now un-tuned than with the stock ecu. Surely they'd only look at the top end fuel, ignition and boost mapping?

Ross, not 100% sure. I had given it to Sean for a week to slap on a FMIC,some injectors,fuel pump, z32 and PowerFC as i was still up north at the time. I believe it was quoted to about 4 hours. Im pretty sure PowerFC are renouned for having possible idle issues aswel which will need to be sorted out. But like everything, i wouldnt have a massive clue, its all heresay as its only ever what im told
