Yea just a thought, you never know. There was a thread recently about someone having park lights staying on and it was because of that switch he'd never seen before.
Might be time to invest in a multimeter after you play with the connectors

yeah i read that post too.
But there not staying on. you can clearly hear the relay click and see them light up when i press the spot light button. and go off when the button is turned off. it's so F'ked up.. yes they have globes. i have even connected them to straight power and got it going. i really appreciate everyone's help and it's interesting and refreshing to get new opinions as my brain has been wracking around this for a couple of days. but i think we are missing the big picture. globe's no globe's. fuse no fuse. the Fog light switch should not be turning on the park lights right? |

yes thats true however the wiring that is now in the car is the same wiring that goes with the engine and the fog lights.
I replaced everything, every nut and bolt, relay fuse switch, engine, dash both the main dash and the dash with the speedo and stuff. i think i will look at rewiring the fog lights direct, as this is still doing my head in. it's not a new engine with old wiring it's all from the same donor car. i might give jap auto's a go tomorrow as thats where i got it all from. |

Have you tried turning them on with high beam only? a lot of people have them re wired so they can't be left on by mistake when the lights are either off or on low beam/park.
As for the dash lights maybe try spraying some contact cleaner in the indicator/light switch & the turn knob for the dash lights, worked for a friend a couple of weeks ago when her indicators shit themselves.

yes, i have tried everything. again thanks everyone for your help,
Let me try and explain this again. let's go. Engine running, Engine not running, Light's on, Light's Off, Car In reverse, Doors Open, Doors, Closed, Wiper's on , Wipers Off, fan, heater aircon On, and off. Every different thing i tried. but the problem isn't that the fog lights arnt work which ok there not. the problem is that no mater if they worked of not. the fog light switch turns on the park lights not the fog lights. so i understand everyone is trying to look at this as a simple problem. If it was simple i wouldn't be on here.. |

If you have inadvertently plugged park into fogs (and vice versa) you will have overloaded the parklight curcuit. It's designed to run 11watt globes, not 55w. |

Ok well i tried that and my fog light's and park lights have different plugs.
the fog light plug is the same as the fender turn signal plug but they all work fine so i doubt it's that. |
