Mine seems to be doing all the rite things besides the noise on the turbo. It's boosting the same as what you quoted. I suppose I was just expecting more, never happy with what you got I suppose. haha

The turbo has been sitting around for a long time. I'm pretty sure he said it had been there for well over a year in his garage. Would this cause a problem? I wouldn't think so.

Not unless he were doing weird things with it in his bedroom involving a vacuum cleaner. Should have kept all of the inlets/outlets sealed though. I will monitor when my car comes on boost in each gear and get back to you as it appears mine is coming on sooner.

He had the inlets/outlets sealed when I came and picked up the turbo and seemed very genuine and honest. We have spoken after we swapped the turbo and he was giving me some advice on a problem I had. That's why I haven't spoken poorly of him and have waited for him to return my message. It's just a shame as I had my VF29 up for sale for $600 ONO. Even if I got $500 it would have been a 1/3 of the cost off buying a new VF34. I also knew a guy that had one that was practically brand new selling for $800. Anyways, no point crying over this shit now. What's done is done, don't feel like that guy ripped me off or anything. He may have not known the turbo was 1 boost away from blowing up.

Dude its only a few hundred bucks... take it on the chin and don't worry too much about it, we've all had stupid things happen to our cars.

All part of playing the game really!

Just enjoy the VF34 and put your pennies aside, then when it completely dies, get a new one

I agree totally. Never know, the turbo may just repair itself and the noise may disappear.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yew79gvoH10 Is this what it sounds like?
This is a thrust bearing turbo though I imagine that the noise would be similar for a ball bearing.
