you dont, you buy another dash.

besides. its not the engine or gearbox that defines a car age, its the chassis.

What km's are on yours? I just removed one from an MY99 with 164xxx kms on it. Interested?

If not JWS will sting you $200 for an JDM STI cluster. Just about garaunteed that it'll have 60 to 80000km on them

Remove the little black thing that you press to reset the trip computer, insert drill, set to anticlockwise, drill for 8 minutes or untill golden.

I didn't have a drill when I did mine, so I just jacked up the car, put it in reverse and let it do its thing for a few weeks.

I looked at doing it as i was planning on buying a used sti cluster from japan, and I found these guys http://www.howardinstruments.com.au/ you have to send it to them with a stat dec and they will set it to whatever you want.

Cheers,

Hmmm i was under the impression that you were unable to reset the odometer as the car would not drive unless it was connected and untampered. Is this just my99/00?

That and i dont really endourse it at all. If i buy a car, id like to know how many KM's the entire thing has done, driveline and engine make up 2 parts of an entire car.

Are you a dope? seriously?

Odo is digital in his 99 wrx....... there's nothing to "drill back"
actually the reset button in any analogue speedo is only linked to the reset pawl for the distance counter not the odometer.....

The jap V6 sti cluster i got from JWS had 208,000 km on it when I bought it....

Just do what I do and reverse everywhere you go. My VW has negative 26,000km on the clock now.

The dealership says it is now worth more as it has negative KM
