Question alarm/ keypad

for a week now i have been locking my car, walking away and from a distance a look back and my alarm has been going off. this also happened at work 20 mins after it was locked. the keypad has been clicking once more after i enter my code but only does this sometimes and sometimes when i unlock the car the keypad will click twice and the indicator lights will come on for a couple of seconds

I suggest resoldering the joints in the control module trick

by control module do u mean the keypad.. what is the control module?

Ahhh no, not the keypad
the control module is the main brant box under the dash
Ill find a DIY for you and post it up here

3. Remove the 2 screws that hold the brant box together.



4. Turn the PC board around so you can see the soldier points on the back of the board.

Retouch / soldier all the points marked in circles. These are the fuel pump, imobiliser, ignition relays power points and coil points.



5. Now do the reverse of what you just did and re-install the brant module into the cover, screw it back together. Now re-attatch the module to the car body point. Re-install the glove box and your done.

Hope this helps some of you that have been having issues with intermittent cut out, and failure to start.
Note these pics are for GD models
the control module is located in a different place in GC models - under the driver side i believe.

Before you do this also check your under bonnet alarm trigger switch
and make sure it is mounted firmly and the plunger is not bent !

It is also possible the keypad is faulty - these are about $50 from subaru
and just plug in to the main control module - its the telephone type plug in the pics.
Ive also just read that on the MY05 models the control module is on the drivers side near the steering column

My 04 was doin this, so I took it to Subaru and they slogged me $280 to fix it...I got raped pretty much So I don't recommend going through them
