hey guys

seems like my car is leaking fuel , i have lost 1/4 a tank in just over a day witch is way over norm , when i fill the tank you can smell the strong smell of fuel from the out side but its not leaking when the car is off and i cannot see it running out , i have been playing for a hour now and as far as i can see it might be coming from the port with the lines in from the tank.

im thinking its the gasket but just wondering if anyone els has had this problem and if the gasket should have been replaced when i installed my new fuel pump a couple of months ago?

i had a similar problem with my car... turns out the rubber gasket at the top of the tank was not fitted correctly when the previous owner changed the fuel pump. it would pay to check the lid and gasket if yours was changed...

on mine, it was pretty clear that's where the leak was, as the petrol was peeling off paint etc on the outside of the tank where it had been slowly running down. inspect the tank and you should see where it is coming from....

from memory its an 8mm nut...
check to see the gasket is flat and it is making a good seal. if the gasket doesnt look much chop, get a new one
