Default Urgent:secure my battery

Hi folks,

Just did a run down of the car to make sure everything is sorted for collie tommorow.

My battery is not secured at all. What is the best way of getting this sorted out?

If its mounted in the stock location, a stock battery clamp would work great.

lol, yeah im not that mechanical.

I just went to super cheap and bought what is considered a battery clamp. just not sure how this thing works. I was expecting like a strap that wraps around the whole thing, but I got long bolts. with a hook on each end. how do these work? (runs and hides in noob flame proof closet)

There's points in the plate the battery sits on that the hooks hook into, then the brace goes across the surface of the battery and the bolt/hooks slide up through the brace and you tighten the wing nuts.

Make sure if using one of the supercheap ones that there is enough clearance of the bonnet. Seen many a high spot created on bonnets through them.

gar, righto. the first one I bought was just the bolts, didnt have the strap across the top hence the confusion.

Now I have another problem, the reason it hasn't been secured is because their is a voltage meter glued to the top of my battery from when they did my stereo. Trying to get this thing off is proving hard.

yay it fixed. getting that glue off was the hardest part. Had to slowly hack away with a stanly knife at the most awkward of positions.

Finding the hole for the bolt on the far side was also bloody hard, especially with a crapload of wiring in the way, ended up finding it by luck and its all sweet to go.

bring on the trackday!
