SPT turbo heat shield on RHD cars.
Hey,
I am looking to get a SPT turbo heat shield like the one in this pic: http://www.christopherwu.net/albums/2008_0...d_installed.jpg My question is, will it fit on our RHD cars? I am aware that it is mainly targeted to the americans and seems to fit nicely with heaps of clearance because their brake master cylinder and clutch reservior is on the other side. I have looked at many pics of them installed on LHD cars and it looks like i will have to reposition my clutch reservior closer to the firewall with a custom bracket, but i am unsure if the shield will still clear the brake master cylinder. Is anyone on here (RHD cars) using this heat shield? How did it fit up for you? Thanks -Nick

doesn't look like it would be hard to replicate by any of the professional workshops around perth. print off a photo take it with you and they will make you one up on the spot!
if your clever, do a batch run, say 10, then re-sell them on here!! |

Whats preferable, this or a beanie .. or both? Does a turbz beanie cause more issues with retaining heat in the turbo? Particularly when the motor is switched off .. or all good?

you could argue both sides of the coin. ive been around enough hot metal in my time to know for a fact, objects cool down the fastest with air over its surface than anything that keeps the heat in.

the reasoning i have heard agains a beanie is that it retains heat when the car is switched off and you are no longer cycling oil or water through it.

yeah thats my concern jester, but at the same time it's best a preventing heat rising onto the tmic.
