like some one else said, solder wires with good quality solder (maybe use silver solder) its a better conductor, then heat shrink wraps... its neater and stronger.

crimps an clips are shite, any decent audio or alarm immobiliser installer uses solder it takes a bit longer too, so i think it says it all really, solder = better or they would just use connectors wouldnt they.

buy your good quality cable, solder and heatshrink etc from Westec Electronics on Balcatta road. (they are located between Erindale road and the freeway).
