Default Sometimes it won't start

G'day all
I replaced my battery about 4 months ago and just prior to the battery going flat ever now and then the car would not start straight away. Since i've changed the battery it's got worse. I took the car back to Subaru with not much luck.
Has anyone got any idea's
Thanks Steve

The motor turns over ok, but it sounds like there is no spark, i can hear the fuel come on but just won't kick over. Somtimes i can wait for 15 -20 mins before it sarts

how often do you drive it? daily? if it sits for a while its common for immobiliser, brant etc to drain the battery.

Its a daily, new battery, Subaru Ossie seem to think when i start the car i push the gas pedal, i think its got more to do with a module in the security system.

Dunno if this sounds like what you have happening..... I had a problem where I would key in my number to the brant, dash would light up and I'd turn the key but no fire, Fuel pump was priming but no spark. I figured starter motor, but it would only do it sometimes and was confusing the hell out of me. Just had Leigh (RMS) out today replacing it. He said there was an issue with the connection that he addressed before but it returned so he popped in a recon one this arvo.... so far so good Ive had no drama.

If you dont mind me asking, what alarm do you have? Brant is famous for stuffing up and rendering the car immobile.

You problem could be something related to the immobiliser for the fuel pump - can you hear it priming every time?

Another cause could be your in-car equipment. Do you have a sound system, phone charger or anything on when you try to start?

Edit: and as Foxy did, take your car to a reputable workshop such as RMS, MMS etc.... Subaru Service are generally pretty useless and charge too much! From my experience anyway....

Before Leigh looked at it i had taken the starter motor out and dropped it at a local auto lecky (here in buno) to take a look and he reckoned there was nothing wrong with it. But the only thing that ever consistantly got the car to start was a few good hard hammer smacks on the starter motor. I also found it played up more on cold days than it did on hot days and once the car was warm it tended not to play up til it got cold again.

Brant, remove it .. and then see how you go. Electrical problems are a bitch and if anything is going to be doing it, get rid of that first.

Trust me
