Based on past experience, take it back to the monkeys you had it fixed by and get them to fix it, and do not leave until it is taken. Whether you have to scream down the workshop. Demand it. Also ring DOCEP and seek further advice.

All is well, I grabbed the torch and a couple of beers, within 30 sec I found the culprit, vac line to manifold behind the alternator...... prick to get on with fat fingers.
If all else fails blame the aftermarket part.... not the fact you forgot to reattach a f^&ken vacuum line They can look forward to a pleasent call from me tomorrow. On the bright side at least nothing is shagged.

Ring the said dealership up and inform them what the problem was
and that it shouldn't have taken you and your torch to find such a simple problem when they should have known what it was straight away as they are supposed experts and they will NEVER get your business again. My 2.2c GST inc

I believe in my heart that it was the beer that solved the problem.
They will not be getting any business from me in the future. And being a pissy vac line prob they should have found it and NOT released the car to my wife, if the car had stalled whilst crossing a major road.... well you get the gist of it. Thanks for your input guys, much appreciated

Eddie. Fats. That vacuum hose is the one they sprayed your upper cylinder cleaner into, doesn't excuse them for leaving it off though. It proves they never road tested the car afterwards. |

Dunno if Jim is or not, but he knows his Subaru's.
I was under the impression (from someone who should know) that Fats and Eddie were the only two in the whole country at one stage, and they both worked at Melville at the time. No question, those two guys have been doing Subaru stuff for longer than just about anyone. Get them both on the piss together and the stories they can tell you............ |

A couple of things:
(1) Get back to the dealer and demand that they fully refund the cost of the service (excluding parts) since they clearly did not road test the car and handed it back to you in non-optimal condition....which (drawing a longish bow) could have potentially been dangerous. (2) Even with a cat back exhaust it is probably worth having an aftermarket tune just to protect the engine at extremes (ECUTek, Verso) (3) I'm not in the business of pitting one dealer against another, but Eddie at Melville Subaru is very reputable, skilled and experienced.
