08 STI - Metal in rear Diff
Changed the rear diff oil today and small flat metal piece was stuck to magnet plug.
To date no noises or performance issues from the rear diff. Any suggestions on next step?

I would get it checked Bruce...maybe get a workshop opinion first then, if indicated, take it to Subaru for possible warranty replacement.

I got some in my rear-diff. I thought it was the rear-diff making the weird noise in my drive train, but it turned out to be my rear wheel bearings.
The rear diff is still working good... I guess it can be normal?

might check mine at next service and replace the oil
if there are metal pieces try get it replaced under warranty while it still available and new rear wheel bearings too..
