Default antilag

hey everyone

quick question about antilag.

does it actually hurt or car to use it? what happens if u use it all the time.

reason why i am asking is that i am getting the new ecu and turbo next month
and this antilag and rotational ilde pops up on the autronics and motec.

is it any good for street use.

thanks for the help.

sorry if it is a stupid question still learning

its pointless for street use, and it can destroy exhaust wheels after prolonged use. aswell as lots of other detrimental problems.

but it sounds killa.

agreed, sounds tuff.

Pretty useless for driving around the place with it on.

Atleast with Autronic and Motec you will be able to switch it on and off as you want.

No such thing as a stupid question.. just stupid people.

If your lucky Joe will post the most comprehensive explanation the world has ever seen on the subject.

well it is not that useful........but.

with my mild state of anti-lag i found that my car comes on boost quicker and honestly feels a bit faster when punching out of turns.

However, I dont use it for more than about 3 or 4 corners in a row as it really isn't that good for the motor and especially the exhaust wheel on your turbo.

It also changes the handling balance of your car when braking, actually it is probably the driver as "I" find, and this could just be me, that I change the way I drive to get the most out of anti-lag, I am more "point and shoot", which most of the time is slower than a smoother style.

Overall, I love the sound and would kill for an anti-lag system that gives me about 1 bar @2000rpm but It doesn't happen on street cars and would not aid the lifespan of the motor/turbo. It only helps a bit on launch and twisty on-off driving.

based on what you want, sound and flame, i provide the following, guide to antilag connoisseurship

my experience,

Autronic and or Link + RMS = Burst of small white flame and plumes of unburnt fuel with intermitting bangs

Autronic and or Link + MMS = Large pure white flame with small crackles getting louder and more frequent as EGT's rise

Autronic and or Link + RT = Medium amber flame with loud machine gun bangs, likewise as MMS, rising EGT's result in more frequent flame/noise

MoTeC + Speedworks = Large singular red flame and a solitare sonic boom

Anyone else, feel free to keep adding to the list, so we can turn this into bill and ted's rexllent's adventure

Std ecu + BOV + freeflowing exhaust + smashing limiter = smallish blue flames when the exhaust gets hot and killa pops!!
