Default Autronic Boost Control

Hi,

will be putting a VF34 and Autronic PNP onto my 99 wrx in the next month or so. Wondering from those that have autronic what the boost control is like using the 3 port solenoid from autronic? Is it better/the same as using something like an Apexi AVCR or Blitz?

I've never been one to have hi/lo boost settings, if I dont want to use all the boost I just dont' drive it as hard...

any comments appreciated.

cheers

Brett

The Autronic 3-port is made by MAC Pneumatics - you might be able to find it cheaper locally (pirtek/enzed sorta thing i think)

That solenoid is great for controlling boost.

Got the exact same setup you're gonna use. Can recommend the Autronic 3-port valve but make sure you use the OEM restrictor in the current T hose assembly. It's a good starting point but you may need to go slightly bigger or smaller if you run in to boost control issues.

I don't use a restrictor and i put the 3-port solenoid directly between the turbo outlet and the wastegate actuator a-la external wastegate setups.

Seems to work well, but it's possibly a bit keen if something goes wrong with the solenoid - like it jams

Got quoted $180 for the solenoid, sound about right to you guys?

Also, does Autronic monitor injector duty cycle? Just trying to decide if I need to up grade the 440cc standard ones if I'm aiming for just on 200awkw. Am buying a walbro 255lt/hr pump

WHOOOOWWW

You're not going to believe this...

Just rang up another supplier (Don't think they are an authorised Autronic dealer either) and they quoted me $89 for the exact same solenoid the authorised dealer told me was $189!!!!!!

Pays to ring around huh!!!! ha ha
