Tode,

Happened all the time in my STi.

Ended up being a dodgey earth somewhere for the alarm / immobilisers.

Subaru had a look see and fixed the earth. Never had a problem since.

It may have also been related to that recall they had. Take it to Subaru and they should be able to sort it.

*touch wood* i've never had a problem, the idea of the door switch that Astralex mentions, or seatbelt warning wiring would make sense though, the anti-hijack going off, with a seatbelt it would start chirping at you for 30 secs before shutting the engine down though, it's not instant... i've forgotten in the past and been rolling down the road, clutch in punching the PIN in and starting the car again

i've just had this problem fixed thought it was the recall so took it to subaru they fixed that but it still kept happening so took it back & they replaced the brant module $340 later its fixed but u can fix it ya self if u can solder check the link for full details which is where the pic is from basically you retouch/soldier all the points marked in circles, these are the fuel pump, imobiliser, ignition relays power points and coil points. Full details are at this link of where to find the module etc http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index...owtopic=106320 hope it helps

Sometimes I get the following problem:
1 - Disable the anti-hijack
2 - Drive the car
3 - Pull over and get out for some reason with the engine running
4 - keep driving
5 - 30 seconds to 2 minutes later the anti-hijack goes off and kills the engine

I have figured its a firmware problem so now I always turn the engine off if
I am going to get out. But odd that it still acts in anit-hijack even though
its been turned off.

I have not even tried to update the firmware. My guess is "no".
I just live with it because having "anit-hijack" is good anyway to stop
being pulled out at the lights. A small bit of pain to save the car
in the long run if some fucker tries it on.

I have also had this happen. I just plan better. I don't dither of stuff
about when its time to get in and drive. Open the door, get in, start car
, then the seatbelt (yes I have to do this AFTER starting) then drive off.
Again, its a pain, but a small price to pay for peace of mind. I do plan
on pissing the brant off when I finished building a suitable replacement.
