radiator could be stuffed (pin hole leaks up near the cap)...many had them replaced under warranty on the 02 STI

Agreed - They tend to get little tiny cracks in them that only piss out when it's hot. Drive it, park it while engine running and pop the hood and see if you can locate the leak.

Just took off as many covers as I could and let it warm up for 10 mins, no leaking but i could notice when i squeezed the top rad hose i could hear a barely noticeable air leak. Once it was fully warm the squeezing didnt produce the air sound anymore.. no idea if thats normal or not but as soon as the person whos parked behind me moves, ill try the above.. Theres absolutley 0 coolant anywhere near the rad so not sure if its the core/fins.. anyways we'll see shortly..

top hose needs replacing then... your radiator shouldn't have no air in it

just went for a spirited drive and pulled over, sure enough bit of coolant sprayed again, but cannot tell where its coming from still.. time to advertise on carsales

turn the throttle while the hood is up, see if anything sprays out.
