Default Car vibrates at certain speeds

Hi guys,

so recently i've noticed that my car vibrates a fair bit at certain speeds.

At 30km/h the entire car would start bouncing up and down.

At 120km/h the steering wheel will vibrate left and right a fair bit.

At 160km/h the nose of the car would bounce up and down, i can also hear things rattling.

so does anyone know what might be the cause of this vibration? aerodynamic? wheel balance/alignment? loose suspension/hub?

*note: car was tested in closed and controlled environment

Cheers
Ken

So you did 160km/h (in controlled conditions) in a car that bounces around at 30km/h???
WTF????
Either way I would be starting with the obvious, wheel balance/alignment.
Just out of interest where is your "closed and controlled environment"?

I would start looking at simple things like bulges in the tyres.

+ 1. Your lucky you didn't become an organ donor taking it to 160km with what you described it doing at 30km.
Take it to a mechanic and get it checked/fixed before you or someone else gets killed.
And do us all a favor and drive slow if you have to drive it, but would be better if you put it on a tow truck.
Remember, fatalities happen at 35km hr too.
Be smart!!

Sound's like a tyre issue to me, may just need the wheels re-balanced. Take it to Wheels World or any reputable tyre shop to get looked at if you cannot see anything visible that could be causing it yourself.

lol got flamed. let me clarify, it bounces at 30km/h as if its resonating with the uneven road. but its perfectly fine at any higher speed like 40, 50, 60 all the way to 100km/h etc. ie. steering does not shake, doesn't pull to any side, car does not vibrate. just smooth and normal.

vibration only happen at certain speeds and 30km/h is one of them.

din't hit any pot holes, didn't see any bulge on tyres, no dead cat stuck, car is definately going to be checked by workshops, but just wanna know if anyone else had similar problems and know what mightve caused it.

does anyone know if dampers and spring rates can be matched differently to what the suspension manufacturer recommended? will it have a negative effect such as vibration mentioned in my first post?

thanks all.
