Can anyone tell me whether the 1997 MY98 and the 1998 MY99 WRX use the same clutch and/or flywheel?

I looked up the parts for both cars on http://opposedforces.com/parts/impreza/en_g10/ and while the part numbers are different for each model, the clutch page listed the one from the opposite model as a substitute part. The flywheel may be compatible, although I got a 404 error trying to chase up the two different part numbers.

Why would you buy a genuine clutch anyway?
There's plenty of better and cheaper options.

i learnt something recently in japan, that the 5 speed clutch plates changed diameter between GC8 applied models C and D onwards, from 225mm to 230mm,

both are compatible with either flywheel/pressure plate assembly.

the GD STI's are 240mm.
