yes i tapped mine into the rear sensor as i wanted to keep the stock pressure indicator.

However you will have issues tightening the sensor and will need a crows foot or something similar.

Is it possible to pay some extra and get an Exhaust Gas Temperature gauge? Far more useful than oil pressure and temperature imho. I'm guessing it may be some sort of package deal and they really are the only choices.....

Speak to Ryan @ Subie Osborne Park (Mingin on here)....Let him know Ross from Giants has put you in touch, I'm sure he'll look after you Gav.

P/n: 11024AA210 (comes with the crush washer too)

EGT is useless unless you know exactly what to look for & when.
Using an EGT alone is considered an older technique for getting the most out of an engine, as a gauge type wideband digital oxygen sensor can be purchased for about the same price, or for a little more and provide you with much more info about your cars tuning conditions.

However, some advanced racers will use EGT gauges in combination with a wideband oxygen sensor to 'lean' the fuel ratio a bit to safely raise the temperature for more power.
IMHO EGT's are useless in street cars, unless your trying to tune for max hp or running on the ragged edge for your combination constantly.

Water temp, Boost & oil pressure are the most useful.
(I have a DEFI 3 gauge cluster reading post intercooler air temp, water temp & oil pressure, with a stand alone boost gauge on the drivers pillar & a permanently mounted wideband system)

As others have said oil pressure doubles as oil temp too once you know what you base hot oil pressure is at idle.
I.e cold idle on my 207 is 600 kpa (87 psi) , fully warmed is 200kpa (30 psi) at idle....With Mobil1 5w50.

oil flow is what lubricates engines - not pressure.
People seem to think that by the time the oil pressure drops your engine is toast, this isn't the case and bar a total oil pump failure (that simply don't happen, unless you own a GTR) you will see oil pressure surges via a gauge before any damage is done (if you can't see a wildly fluctuating gauge when you drive then you need idiot lights, not gauges anyway).....

P.s Who is running around with an EGT & knows how to read it?

Yep, but looks like too much jigging around to install, got to tap into the exhaust manifold somewhere

I have defi tripple centre pod set up; boost, oil presure and oil temp.

I find oil presure of no use, as said many times before, by the time it tells you there is a problem it will be to late.

Boost is goood for bling and to keep an eye on exactly what is happening with the presure, over boost line leak etc...

I like the oil temp as it is a far beter indication of what the actual engine temp is at, not just the radiator temp. Gives you a true indication of when the engine is warmed up and/or running too hot.

My 2c.

So why would one go with oil pressure over oil temp gauge? I thought that pressure would lower as the temp increases (for same engine speed).
Also, why do people say that its already too late when the oil pressure gauge says something is wrong? Really interested in these.
