Why do you want a front mount for a td04 anyway?

my mistake its a td05 and its got some stupid elbow on it standard? I have never seen a turbo that has an upwards facing elbow thats part of the front housing ever. Whats more annoying is that while removing the old tmic that stupid plastic pipe that goes to the bov snapped AGAIN.
I really need some pics of fmics mounted on 95 model wrxs, surely someone on here has done this?

just found a pic

That's the stock TD05 from an early WRX, got the same on mine.

Yeh this is a 95 wrx. Looks like instead of rotating I'm going to have to find or fab up a U-bend or get a silicon shaped one. Also are the chimneys ontop of these worth keeping? I might be able to squeeze the pipe past but would be better removed. Once again the only model of car I've ever seen that came with one.

Rob, wouldnt mind having a looksies at the chimney set up. Need to see how it all bolts together as I want to put one back on the RS to keep it looking original.

If I get rid of it I'll let you know. Trying to look up on the net but I have no luck finding any sort of info on these types of wrx. And I have no idea what the cover/chimney/air duct/whatever on the turbo is called lol.

I have always heard of them reffered to as a turbo chimney. They came out on the RS lib as well as the pre 96 WRX. They are designed to push cool air down over the turbo to cool it. Don't know how well they do that but the majority of cars I have seen that had them as a standard item have had them removed. Never seen one on a car with a FMIC.
