Also, ya might have a hard time explaining why to your insurance co, should it be established that anti-hijack or any other security feature was disabled, in the event of a claim!

The very reason the Brant was intro'd to WRX's and even retro fitted free back to the MY99 was the fact they they were a fave target for the bad guys.

Do yourself a favour & leave all options turned on.

Signing off until the next thread about the Brant being a nuisance.....

Just get a Autowatch with anti car jacking features, they are much easier
to use and not annoying at all if you cant stand the Brant one.

Unless there is something wrong with it, leave it in. I also guarantee
that I will laugh my tits off if you take it out and your car gets stolen.

If the unit is faulty that's a different story and you should replace it with
something decent as per the autowatch suggestions.

The Brant IS annoying, but so is putting on a condom before hooking up
with that girl you met on Saturday night. Small inconvenience for peace
of mind.

If you take your seatbelt off, and plug it back in BEFORE opening the door, it will not trigger the anti hijack.

I have once or twice done this with success, but its more of a pain in the ass than to simply turn the car off and start it up again.

If you start it within 30 or 60 seconds of turning off (i forget the time period) you wont have to enter your code anyway.

It is the standard (anti hijack) feature of all Brants...read your manual!
Work around it or find out if a dealership can disable it (but be aware of potential insurance issues)...
