Default Turbo Timer for STI

I've talked to XSpeed about installing a turbo timer into my MY06 STI. The guy told me that it can't be done in the STI because of the security keypad, there no way to bypass it. I was wondering if anyone knows if a turbo timer can actually be fitted to the STI and someone in Perth that can do it?

You don't really need it to be honest.
The turbo is cooled by both water and oil and also if you fang it, you wouldn't just shut the car down straight away, you still drive around at a sedate level for a few seconds/mins.

But to answer your question, it can be done.

I'm just trying to be on the safe side instead of the sorry side. And being up north when i drive to Perth the engine n turbo works pretty hard for prolong period of time, so I thought it be safer to install a turbo timer. How can I find Macey, i searched through the members and can't seem to find him.

If Turbo timers were needed Subaru would have included one.

for the last few km to your destination just drive the car off boost.

R3X,
As some members have mentioned, turbo timers aren't a necessity but they do come in handy in some circumstances. That being said, yes, I can integrate an aftermarket turbo timer into your STI and still allow the factory and brant security systems to operate, this includes being able to lock the vehicle with the factory remote whilst it's still timing down.
Regards,
Macey

You would hardly ever hit boost on a long drive so the turbo isn't going to be working hard at all. Best timer is the anti-hijack. Stop take your belt off then wait for the anti-hijack to kick in then remove keys. Problem solved.

I don't think letting the car stall from fuel starvation is a wise repeated practice.
