Forgies isnt all you need in the 257 to make it reliable when chasing power. Think sleeves, close deck and race bearings. Sleeves and bearings at least.

Alright I can't make up my mind again :/

Any other twin scrolls worth loking at? On second thoughts I reckon the td05 might just be a little bit too small and I will end up upgrading.

Looking at the TD06 twinscroll at the moment but is there a garret option that will fit without too many headaches?

This could be an option.

Just an update on my turbo mix and match adventures, the 0.63 turbine housing and gasket kit for the GT3582R arrived yesterday so I proceeded to remove the existing 0.82 housing (the one with the shitty Perrin exhaust flange) and after much love with the WD40 I finally got it off only to find that something must have been sucked through the turbo at some point as the blades on the turbine all have chunks out the end of them which would explain the longer than normal time to hit boost and the lack of overall boost.

Now I just have to find a replacement turbine then I can put the 0.63 housing on it and it should kick some serious ass!!

It's running quite nicely at the moment with the new GT3076R, spools at 3000rpm but lacks the top end punch that the GT35R had which is why I'm playing around with the original GT35R trying to come up with the best compromise between lag and top end power.

So whenever you want a drive just give me a yell....

Here is a picture of the turbine blades, I'm guessing that they shouldn't have the jagged bits at the end of them which is a bit of a concern seeing as the metal bits plus whatever has been sucked into it to cause the damage has to have gone somewhere presumably either into the intercooler or into the engine itself. Strange part is that the blades on the compressor side look fine :S

thats the turbine side so any metal fragments will go straight out the exhaust system.

You run antilag at all?

I just thought about it some more and realised that they would go straight out the exhaust side

There has been anti-lag run on it before I had the car so I guess that would be a good explanation.

So the blades like that would definitely cause it to not reach it's full power output wouldn't it? Explains so much if that is the case.
