Hey blommer please confirm the DBA4650S are 148inc? Seems really cheap for what is essentially the same rotor as the DBA4000S cheers.

Ahem...Protex come out of the same manufacturing facility as DBA.

According to the boys at ABS osb park, Protex are a manufacturer / supplier to DBA but still selling these under their own name.

Atap are the WA distributor.

No offence, but i do have distributor access because I am the WA Distributor for Intima pads and DBA has granted us access due to an agreement. Try calling ATAP and ask what they can do for?

I wasn't doubting your access to wholesale on dba....More the 'Dba quality' bit.

ATAP are the Protex agent in WA.

I have access to DBA wholesale through Nissan's automate national distributorship.
(Same way we (Nissan) are a wholesale distributor of NGK plugs & hence the gb's I did previously @ 10c profit per plug)

I've done a few pairs of 5000 replacement disks for some of the Evo boys that way.

I'm simply too busy with all this hail related panel supply stuff, now & for the foreseeable future (i'm taking orders through to March 2011 currently), to have the time available to organize anymore Gb's. If I had more time on my hands I would.

The Protex disks are available through ABS in Osb Park for about $160-170 from memory, they usually have stock on their shelves, if not it's only 1 hour away....Mention Perth Wrx for a package deal on disks & pads.

P.s Here's a few cracked DBA4000's

Best for last

End of the day, nothing is full proof and it all voice down to how you drive your car. Benefit of a doubt given to Protex rotors but under certain extreme conditions, they will eventually give way as well, same as those by DBA and RDA.

So guys, prices of both Protex and DBA are on here, feel free to choose your choice of metal. If interested, Marc will organise a GB and we will count numbers from there on.

Cheers
Jian

We can do all the brands mentioned here, RDA, DBA, Project Mu, Protex etc. and as a group buy, on a large numbers of rotors, can better all the prices mentioned here thus far. We're also happy to organise the whole thing if required. If there's enough interest let me know and we can make it happen.

Couple of points though. ATAP are the importer, and owner of the brand Protex. They're in no way related to DBA. Also ATAP will never ever deal direct with a retail customer, even for any sort of massive group buy. Some ABS stores are owned by ATAP, and thus might be telling porkies to plug the Protex rotors over the DBA, which ATAP also supply, but obviously not at as good a margin.

And yep, for anyone who's done motorsport on them, the term 'DBA 4000 series quality' can be a bit of an oxymoron...

Agree nothing is fool proof or infalible......

Good = Rda slotted
Better = Protex ultra streets
Best = Dba 4000
Bestest (bolt on- stock sized) = Project Mu

P.s I cracked a Protex disk - my fault entirely - hot disk/cold water = me fail, replaced under warranty though.

Protex are made by the same Manufacturer that manufactures for DBA ... DBA don't cast their own disk blanks (which is done off shore).

ABS Osborne Park is an Owner/Operator site.
