Default Brake squeak only when in reverse??

Seems everytime I brake when in reverse it squeaks which is weird because 5 months ago I replaced the front rotors with slotted and the rears where machined with new pads both front and rear. Any ideas?

Mine's the same - MY99, standard pads and rotors, squeals in reverse.

I read somewhere that you're supposed to run a file over the leading edge of the pads when they're installed to prevent squeal. Just a bit of bevel.

No idea whether that still applies.

Mine have been squeeling with the old pads, and they still do now with the new pads. But because I don't brake too often when in reverse...who cares about it

Probably your rear brakes

Can be you rotors, pads or lack of shims

Have a look at the rotors, if there burnt, then give them a slight skim

High performance bendix pads are known for doing this. If its pads
chuck in standard pads.

Check if there is Shims, these are only available from Subaru and have to be imported from Japan
