Default Engine Light on after replacing brant keypad

I just bought a new keypad for my brant alarm system since the old one ended up having some wires pulled out from it.

I put it in myself, all that I did was unplug the old one and plug the new one in. It works fine but the engine light is always on and after turning the car off the keypad stays fully light up when it's not meant to.

Any ideas on why this is happening and if there are any solutions?

I think when you do anything to the main Brant module (ie. unplug the keypad and plug the new one in) you need to enter the mastercode, but i may be totally on the wrong track

Yep. Good luck with that. If you're successful, send me a PM as to how you achieved it. I know it's been done before but I believe that Subaru have tightened up on giving out the master code in more recent times.

you can take it in and pay a Subaru dealership to do it, they won't just give out the mastercode...it's a bit of a scam having to pay them but it's worth a try to see if it clears the CEL...
