Default Genuine sti spark plugs, has anyone used them

as above, has anyone used the genuine sti spark plugs,
ST224014S020

or have any information on the specs of them? i assume their gap is 0.6mm and
they are a colder plug, but are they iridium, platnuium, etc?
what would be the ngk part number for them?

cheers

Tom

NGK pfr6b for all GC's stock.

Pfr7b is the colder option.

GD STI 2001-02 uses PFR7G standard

later (avcs) 2.0 & 2.5 are a different plug type (ILFR6B).

That STI plug you listed is spec'd for the 2005 Group N GD chassis & is an ILFR8B (2 steps colder than stock).

All are platinum with a std .8mm gap.

I'm fairly certain they are just the normal NGK PFR7G 22401AA640 which are platinum, these are what comes in my 2006 S204 from the factory and as per usual STi just rebadge them as a STi part and ramp up the price well that's what MMS told me anyway.

*Rossco would prob have the info at the tip of his fingers though.

The ILFR6B is a longer thread than the PFR series, don't attempt to interchange them or there will be nasty consequences.

Your S204 is running the same plug as the Aus bug sti.

The STI plugs are just a colder plug than the stock ones I.e for an s204 you'd use a pfr8G to go cooler.

FYI: colder plugs remove heat faster from the plug tip, they help suppress det in highly strung racing applications or where plug tip erosion becomes a problem. .

No point on a street car, they will foul.

I run the PFR7B's on mine, as I run 24 psi.. the warmer plug (PFR6B) was having the spark blown out at high boost in my application.

P.S. PFR 6G and 6B are same, just the electrode is made of a different material.. the G is a fine wire nickel and the B is "special application" according to NGK i.e. "race use".

They probably closed the gaps up a wee bit on the new ones, blowout isn't a heat range issue.

I run 7b's too.

'B' is double platinum (electrode & on the earth tang), 'G' has platinum centre electrode only.

Bug spark plugs awesome haha, That's what was put there by the Ninjas at STi so they must be ok.

Ok after doing some more research. The pfr6g is what i have now which is the racing type. the pfr6b are the normal type of plug. those plugs which i posted cross reference to a R7433-8 which is a STI T7359-8 which is a subaru branded ngk plug. now to find the technical specs of the plugs to find out why they are $40 each.
