Of course I hadn't appreciated that the main height adjustment was via the coilover base rather than the spring plate....this is a different system than say DMS where the base of the coilover is fixed and all height adjustment is via the spring plate.

I'm glad its all sorted!

Although the manual says to adjust height via the lower bracket, it doesn't mention that you can also alter the height via the spring base, in combination with the lower bracket if required, with no detrimental effect.

Instead of bring up a new thread, I'll just bump this one.
Just wont to make sure I'm right on this. To lower your coilovers you loosen the height adjusting nut, to decompress the spring (if that makes sense). Instead of tightening the adjusting nut and compressing the spring which raise's the vehicle height.
Right or Wrong??

Thanks.

You have to adjust the length of the shock not the tension in the spring.

The spring should just sit on the two lock rings tightly between the top and the seats. Do not compress the spring. The spring has to be seated just tight enough so it doesnt move when the vehicle is jacked up.

Loosen the bottom ring holding the bottom macherson strut leg and turn the whole shaft in or out of the bottom threaded strut leg.

There is a limit for the height adjustment depending on the design of the coilover.

Will demonstrate this to you if you pop by. Pretty cool trick for adjustment.

Regards,
Mao

Thumbs up

So i had a fair bit of weight in the back of the car today. I thought the rims/rubber would be rubbing for sure, but it looked even better and much more flush. So I want to take my rear HSD's lower.

Read through here, and here, lowering HSD Coilovers , watched the video also .. So i need to disconnect the bottom of the strut, loosen the bottom ring so it goes UP the coilover, then rotate the bottom of the strut upwards, then retighten the ring, then reconnect the bottom of the strut to the hub/suspension?

Fairly easy??

I want to drop it by another 10cm or so.

Photo attached was the rear with close to a tonne of wood.
