how to remove sump
i just tried to remove my sump so i can fit some equal length headers. the problem is there are 4 bolts are almost impossible to reach, i was hoping for some advice from some people that have done it before. the bolts run along the back edge of the sump and are covered by part of the steering components. has anyone else tackled this and how did you get around this problem?

To get to those last 4 bolts between the engine and crossmember...
You need to undo the engine mount nuts under the crossmember and remove the pitch mount. Then lift the engine up off the crossmember as far as it will go. Then you need a long socket extension and a uni-joint extension and you should be able to get to it. The bolts aren't under a huge amount of torque. So try using a 3/8" drive socket. They are thinner and a little more maneuverable in that tight spot.

Nope its easy enough to do with engine in, thers two inspection wholes on the cross member. I got a wobbly 1/4drive socket and used my 1/4 drive set to get them off.

Use your jack + a piece of wood on top, place it under the transmission & wind up slowly, listen for bad creaks & might not hurt having someone up above watching to make sure nothing's going to break under the stress. Once they are all out have a fun time trying to break the seal on the gasket

keep an eye on radiator hoses when you lift the engine, they should be able to flex enough to lift it an inch or so
