i am looking at getting some unequal length headers next month, but i don't think i will be getting them ceramic coated due to my budget. Any major disadvantages to this?

mainly looking to improve low down response and some more tq.

the main disadvantage to not getting them coated is heat, the stock headers have heat shields which partially block radiant heat. if you dont want to get them ceramic coated a cheaper option is to fiberglass wrap them, not as good but it will improve exhaust flow and reduce engine bay heat.

Only $330 to coat the equal length ones I had at CIC. If you melt anything by skimping it will cost more than that.

if u looking at getting equal length headers u will lose some low down torque u only gain some more torque at the high end of the revs, but i didnt really notice. I dont like the noise it makes unless i am in a tunnel or next to a wall but it does sound pretty good when its reving high. If it didnt cost so much i would go back to unequal purely coz i like the noise better

that is true. Looks like i will have to save a bit more. $330 isn't a lot but when you get the headers for say ~$500 then it does sound a little expensive. Then installation and a re-tune. $1000+ at the end of the day.

Talking

I'll be doing a before and after dyno plot when my batch of J-STYLE TUNING headers arrive soon, however that depends on getting the car in to be done around the xmas period.
