Gotta agree with apg39 though. This is the same as the last thread by the OP. Take it to a workshop and get them to look at it.

Yeah, the later ones have 2 caps too, but as you said they have the proper cap, a 'do not remove' higher pressure type that you only ever remove to help refill the system.
Air in the system is a common cause, if so the heater will be blowing cold air when set to hot (usually)
I can't think why they would have done anything to the cooling system when changing the gearbox, but make sure the fans are working.
Unless it's a 10 minute fix, I can't do anything with it until after new year, we're full.
