Default Grinding Noise under mid-hard RIGHT cornering

Hi guys, just noticed a grinding noise coming from the front left side under mid to hard right hand cornering.

Noise only happens under those two conditions (does not occur in a straight line or under slow-speed right hand cornering).

It sounds like the brake rotor coming into contact with what I can only assume is the brake pad itself?

I have recently had new dba 4000's put on the front only (about a 3 weeks ago but I have been away for 2 weeks overseas).

The ferodo pads (again only installed on the front) have been there for a while now, at least 5 months.

I have also had whiteline 22mm adj sways (stock links, not whiteline...yet) + alk + roll centre kit installed too (about a month ago) as well if that is of any use.

My initial thought is that its just the rotor not being properly bedded/worn in yet but am concerned its only coming from one side of the car (i.e. they are wearing unevenly?)

Input/experiences appreciated

Thanks,
Shane.

Cheers for that,

what did it turn out to be? were they fouling each other or some other part of the suspension?

Will give wheels world a call tommorow see if John will look at it for a bit.

I've seen worn wheel bearings cause this, especially on STi's. But since you just had brakes fitted I would get that checked out first. But wheel bearing is a distinct possibility.

Had the same trouble when I fitted my prodrive calipers to my Foz. Make sure that the rotors are sitting in the middle of the calipers. One of mine wasn't ( just slightly out ) and during cornering without braking the rotor would grind against the caliper ( would be ok if braking and cornering ) Since your calipers are the same ones I'd suggest checking that they've been put back on square / properly

Nothing to do with Wheels World, get whoever put them on to check.

Got em checked by James at Citys this arvo Burke.

The backing plate on the rotor was catching the back of the rotor under hard right hand cornering causing the grinding noise. Its stopped grinding since James fixed it

There are a few more issues but all easily fixable (will be done asap).

My fronts also might be scrubbing slightly so James suggested running a little more camber up front (running neg 2 all round right now, so perhaps -2.5 will sort that bit out) but I realised later today that the front wheel has been rotated from the back to the front so it could just be that as the other front has no scrubbing at all (tyre rotation probably)

Also need to get hub/o-rings installed asap as the ultrex wheels dont have any. Have to wait a week if I wanna go through wheels world as John is off. Or I can Auto-pro or Vision R, etc.

Other than that she is all good!

Thanks to all and of course James from Citys, much gratitude.
