Default Help me with my baby! Speedo

Hey guys i am up north at jurien bay atm and today i got in my car after a day of relaxation and the speedo is not working anymore... Its day time so i dont know if the dash lights on but i need this fixed as it is still double demerits and im travelling on country roads...

I drive a 1997 MY98 wrx gc8 and i was just wondering what it could be, mechanic has looked at it and he said auto electrician but there isnt one here in jurien, fuses have been checked.

Please help fast as i need to fix it before 6 am tomorrow morning

Cheers,
TILLEE

Buy a cheap GPS that displays your speed.
Probably not really an option in Jurien however...

Have you checked/cleaned the plug on the front r/h side of the gearbox? they usually go into limp mode without the speedo so you should be safe speed wise lol.

Please define limp mode? If that means runs like shit, feels like its cutting out while driving then yes it feels limp

Its only the speedo and odometre

Yup, that's limp mode, take it easy till the speedo is fixed then re-set the computer.

Did you check to make sure the plug on the box is ok? haven't ripped the wires out?
