Darton Sleeves - EJ207
The block I bought has some pitting on the top of the bore (deck) and although I have been told it should not be an issue it is not something I want in the back of my mind every time I mash the foot.
How much stronger will the block be if I sleeve it. I have already been quoted to do the job with 92mm darton flangetop dry sleeves and wanted to know if it will be an advantage. The recearch I have done seems to support doing it but also that the bores can become too stiff? I know Race Torq have a CNC'd plate that can be droped in to re-inforce the bore but that wont get rid of my problem. I could buy another block and start again but I already have this one and if sleeving will make it a tougher block than why not. I have a Cosworth 2.2 kit and will be running a twist mount Greddy TD06 pushing as much boost as my topmount will let me. Everything esle on the car will be done right and the last thing I want is a weakness in the bottom end. Any info on this people can dig up will be great.
