Strange noise when taking throttle off in 2nd gear
I have noticed this from when I purchased the car that when I lift my foot from the accelerator in second the engine makes a strange noise, can't really explain it but if somebody has experienced the noise they will know what I'm on about.
Is it normal? Or should I have it checked out? Thanks

Only in second, and when throttle is removed. Not a fluttering noise but more of a grinding noise, but since only comes on when the engine is slowing the car I am not sure what it could be.

doesn't sound good if its a grinding noise, not normal... get a quick check out by a mechanic imho

More information please mate, what year and model of car do you have? Can you video the noise with your phone and post it up? Hard to form an opinion without hearing the noise.

Sorry for lack of info.
Car is a 2006 MY07 wrx completely stock apart from diff back exhaust. It may just be whine and a standard noise but never experienced a car that is this loud with the whining. Thanks for all opinions

When I got my 2004 WRX I thought everything sounded wrong and loud, lol. I thought the whine with the gearbox was weird but looks like its normal for wrx's. Sometimes it sounds like a jet, lol. Had a skyline before the wrx and it was way more quite. Im used to it now and kind of like all the noises it makes
 Also I think I get the sound in 2nd and 3rd gear

I have an 05 and I have gear whine in first and second, it's not so bad in third upwards though.
I've had it since I bought the car, and It seems pretty normal to me now, but at first I did get a bit annoyed at the loudness of the gearbox.
