Default MY99 Rear diff into MY98

Hey all, quest a quick one, new to WRX's. Would a MY99 WRX Manual Rear Diff fit into a MY98 WRX?

not 100% sure but if your car has a 3.54 ratio rear diff then the MY99 one will also fit (same ratios)

Both the my99 and my98 WRX have the same ratio rear diff (3.54)

But the my98 uses different rear driveshafts. One of the shafts has a double spline on it that inserts into the Viscous coupling.

So does that mean if they use their current MY98 driveshafts on the MY99 diff it will be okay or not?

It won't be ok. They'll slide in on the splines but wont clip on in the correct position.
