Default Problem with cruise control

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows what could be the problem with my misses 04 liberty. When we use the cruise control it will work fine then while your sitting back cruising the set will disarm it self and so the vehicle will start to decelerate, then you have to press set again and after a few minutes it will happen again, set disappears as in you've touched the brakes and disarmed it.

Got me stunned especially that its fly-by-wire!

Cheers Paul

Do you get a check engine light (CEL) at the same time?

Check the brake light & clutch pedal switches.

It will probably have to go to a dealership for proper diagnosis. If its manual I would be looking at the neutral position switch.

As Rossco said, check the Clutch pedal switch. More often then not adjusted to close to pedal and with slight movement or vibrations can set it off.

perhaps check your brake/tail light globes. Might be slightly far fetched, but a broken filament from the tail light while your lights are on can touch the brake light part and cause them to flicker, and might be enough to disable your cruise control

Pretty much if the brake lights work my brake switch is working yeah? But how do i test the clutch switch? Or should i just bridge the terminals and see if the cruise control stays on?

If you take it to a dealership it will take them about 15 minutes to definitely diagnose it. Instead of guessing. If its a manual, it is very common for the neutral switch to have a poor contact with the shift rod, it will show the vehicle is in neutral even when it isn't causing C/C to cancel.
